"Have to say, it's amazing - the best video tutorial we've included with the magazine to date. A great way to launch the DVD issue. Thanks for putting up with the FTP problems, and for creating this 3D Artist edition of your Blender Series training." -Tom Rudderham, 3Dartist Magazine

HTML 5 IS ALIVE!
And coming to you THIS SUMMER

Over the years, cmiVFX has been proud to bring you the video training for the newest software available on the markets. We take pride in bringing you information that is not easily accessible to individuals and companies, because its simply non existent. (Not even on the internet!)

What we do is unique. We help build and design 3rd party applications with their developers so we can offer solutions to customers that have never been thought of before. These research and development tactics are why we stand alone on the side of the Computer Graphics and Visual Effects Vertical Market. We believe by continuing education from where other institutions and training companies left off helps fill a void in the industry and allows us to better complete our customers individual goals.

Here at cmiVFX, we feel that we do not have competition. Instead, we have more customers. We have proudly been training individuals from other training companies since we launched the very first video for Apple Shake. Since then, we were the first to release training for Shake, Nuke, Fusion, Flame, Houdini, and many others. Our training helps other 3rd party training companies complete the circle of life for our customers. Today, we would like to announce one more FIRST for the visual effects industry. It is the very first HTML 5 Digital Rights Management Video Player Delivery System to be used on ALL BROWSING CAPABLE DEVICES.

For years, we have been working on Mobile Solutions for our videos. We have seen others try to develop systems as well. iPhone apps are a plenty out there, yet the content is short and abrupt requiring many clicks keeping intense learning at bay. Our testers for our mobile playback system are Tough New Yorkers that ride the Trains, Subways, Cabs, and Rigshaws! We wanted to bring a learning environment to the ever growing Mobile market, and we wanted to do it right.

Our new HTML 5 Player system supports: ANY OPERATION SYSTEM, ANY COMPUTER, ANY LAPTOP, ANY DEVICE CAPABLE OF HANDLING RICH MEDIA. For all current customers, there will be no additional charges to start using our new system. ALL CUSTOMERS will be invited to our new OPEN BETA this summer! We are adding new store functionality and some final touches during the next 3 - 4 weeks, and look forward to all your feedback. Our 24 / 7 support line will still continue like normal, and we will have some exciting news through out the year with even more exciting technologies.

REMEMBER, We always listen to our customers. We owe it to you to get it right the first time, and we know allowing all of you to use our OPEN BETA will help make it the best system on the planet for the next few years. (Why the next few years? Well, we know by they time everyone else figures this out, we will be on to the next thing!)

For more information, please make sure you have registered for a free account on our video player system or store page.

Latest Video Releases Release Date 8/23/2010

CURRENT LATEST VIDEO RELEASE:
Cinema 4D Pyrocluster Revealed
PyroCluster is the volumetric shading module for Cinema 4d. Pyrocluster enables photorealistic volumetric effects such as fire and smoke, as well as Hollywood-style explosions (think gasoline bomb) and stylized science (and science fiction) 'energy' effects like force fields, beams of electricity, and wormholes. It is a fully featured, yet extremely easy to use module, and it is fully integrated within Cinema 4d, unlike many of the other third party volumetric plug-ins available.

BodyPaint UV Layout and Texture Painting Techniques
http://www.cmivfx.com/productpages/product.aspx?name=BodyPaint_UV_Layout_And_Texture_Painting

Introduction
BodyPaint 3D offers complete control over your textures with layers, filters and tablet support while working in 3D. Multichannel stroke support allows for painting across many channels at once while working in the 3D View. Maxon's RayBrushTM technology lets you view the results of your painting in real-time without ever having to hit the render button.

Projection Painting in BodyPaint 3D allows you to virtually tattoo across UV seams and objects. Laying out UV's couldn't be easier in BodyPaint 3D. This software includes three automatic UV unwrapping algorithms, including the new Optimal Cubic Mapping system.

BodyPaint is included in Cinema 4D or as a stand alone application. Either way you use it, it becomes a powerful translator, albeit a bridge, between multiple CG applications. If you haven't learned how to use BodyPaint, then your only half way there!

Part 01 of RC Helicopter Cam Madness

cmiVFX Flying Remote control Iphone Video helicopter

cmiVFX uses a T-Rex 450 Align RC helicopter and a custom gimbal from a camera tripod miniature to fly around a brand new iPhone 4 HD video camera.

The gimbal was used to stabilize footage from the shaking vibration of the helicopter. You will notice that the magnet from the gimbal and the electronics from the helicopter SOMETIMES cause strange banding in this demo video. We do have many test clips that dont have this... but by circumstance they were to shaky from wind gusts. This thing is DANGEROUS due to its very light weight. We are currently building a T-Rex 700 Electric Helicopter to carry a Canon 7D HDSLR video camera.

Nuke Shading and Lighting FX
This video was created to help compositors learn how to manage the current 3D Shading and Lighting system inside of the Nuke Compositing application.
